Who are SCORE Volunteers?
SCORE volunteers
are retired and working business managers and owners who have enjoyed business
success and who want to help entrepreneurs succeed. They offer the benefit of
their skills, knowledge and experience. Some have worked for major
corporations. Others have owned and operated their own small businesses. We
believe this mix of counselors and skills offers entrepreneurs the best of both
worlds.
SCORE is made up
of volunteers from all backgrounds coming together as a team to complete a
common goal: to help small businesses succeed.
The Madison
Chapter is always interested in finding new volunteers who have a strong
business background and a desire to share their knowledge with others in our
community. We also seek individuals who would like to help "behind the
scenes" by providing administrative clerical assistance, marketing and
technical support.
Nationwide 13,000 men
and women, retired and working, donate their time and talent to assist
America's entrepreneurs. At our 364 SCORE offices, volunteers provide
confidential one-on-one and team business
counseling and
low-cost entrepreneurial training workshops and seminars.
In addition,
volunteers may wish to become "cyber counselors", providing email
counseling directly from their homes or offices.
